Beautiful large vintage to antique butterfly brooch featuring exceptionally detailed openwork filigree construction. The butterfly has layered dimensional wings with intricate hand-worked wire designs, long antennae and contrasting silver-tone details.
Construction and style appear consistent with European filigree jewelry, likely dating approximately 1930s–1950s. Similar period pieces were produced in Italy and Malta. No maker or silver purity mark has been positively identified, so metal content is not guaranteed.
